The Dakar Green Talk online event takes place today

The Portuguese Embassy in Dakar is organising The Dakar Green Talk, an online event to be held today, Wednesday March 24, starting at 15:00 (GMT).
Discussions revolving around the approach and points of view of the public and private sectors on sustainable development and green investment in Africa and the European Union are expected to steer the conversations.
The meeting will be held on the Zoom platform. The Dakar Green Talk will bring together personalities from the political and business world, international financial and development finance institutions, as well as academics.
As a consequence of Portugal taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Embassy of Portugal is organising this event in preparations for the High-level Economic and Green Investment Forum EU-Africa, to be held on April 23, 2021 in Lisbon.
Personalities who will attend the event include Francisco André, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Moïse Sarr, State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Luís Figo, President of the Fundação Luís Figo and former footballer, among others.
The various speakers will share their experiences to show the profitability and sustainability of green business models, and their ability to create jobs and generate wealth, while contributing to the achievement of global sustainable goals that protect the environment.
This event is open to representatives of national and local authorities, companies, professional associations, commercial banks and development finance institutions, as well as academics, non-profit organizations government officials and civil society leaders from Africa and Europe.
