Libya/Germany Discuss Gas Flaring Reductions

On Sunday morning, January 17, 2021, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Mustafa Sanallah, received at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, the German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Ovtsha, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the development of means of joint cooperation between the two sides was discussed, and the return of German companies to the Libyan market, and the Corporation’s tireless efforts to reduce gas flaring in the fields of its companies and to direct alternative energies to provide electric energy needs were discussed, and this comes within the framework of its future plans that it seeks to implement In the coming years, according to internationally recognized environmental standards.
His Excellency Ambassador Oliver Ovtsha congratulated the Chairman of the Corporation’s Board of Directors and all workers in the oil sector for achieving high rates of production despite the scarcity of financial resources needed by the sector, indicating that German companies operating in the field of oil and energy have a strong desire to return to work and invest in Libya.
