Salamat is a chartered Civil Engineer (COREN) with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos and a certified HR Practitioner (CHRP), with experience in Oil and Gas Business Development and Services, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering,  Interior Decorating, Project Management and Entrepreneurship.

After many failed attempts at starting a business, including setting up a magazine and a stress management camp, she proceeded to cut her teeth with 10 years of work experience with the world-class Nigeria LNG Ltd, where she worked from 2004 to 2013, in various capacities including as a Project Engineer with the LPG Business Development Team and the Train 7+ Business Development Team in the Expansion Coordination Department and in their Human Resources Division before she resigned to have another go at entrepreneurship.

She is currently the Managing Director and Founder of Easygas Energy Solutions Ltd, her LPG Retail Company, based in Lagos and has been since 2013 when she left paid employment.

She is also on the Executive Committee of the International Women’s Society (The first indigenous non-profit organisation in Nigeria), a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian LPG Association (NLPGA), Women in LPG Council, the Project Management Institute, Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD UK) and Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria. Her interests include the creative arts, charity work, women empowerment and mentoring.
