Three illegals refineries in Bonny, Rivers State, were destroyed by the Joint Task Force operating in the Niger Delta, Operation Delta Safe, between October 30th and November 3rd 2020, the Defence Headquarters has said.

Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, said troops of OPDS have continued with the aggressive fight against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and economic sabotage in the region with significant successes.

Enenche also disclosed that Operation Calm Waters II and Operation Swift Response have continued to record successes, as 44 drums of illegally acquired PMS and 326 bags of smuggled rice have been intercepted within the period

“Within the period in focus, troops of Operation Delta Safe discovered and immobilized three illegal refineries containing seven boilers, two reservoirs and two tanks loaded with illegally refined oil products around Orutoru in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State.”
