BP celebrates Greater Plutonio milestone

BP’s Greater Plutonio floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel offshore Angola has produced 600 million barrels of oil.

The UK-based super-major operates Block 18, home of the FPSO, working with China’s Sinopec. BP said the milestone had come despite challenges thrown up by travel restrictions stemming from COVID-19.

“This remarkable achievement required an incredible One Team mindset not just throughout bp to deliver, but our close working relationships with our contractors, the concessionaire and Sinopec, to support our plans to deliver value,” said BP Angola’s senior vice president Adriano Bastos.

“There will be many business and operational issues ahead to achieve the next production milestone but with our team’s resilience, I’m sure that we will continue to deliver value for Angola and bp.”
