Chevron Shops For Subsea Vessel For Agbami Field

Chevron is shopping for a subsea vessel for a long-term deal to support its operations at its new Floating Production, Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) on the $3.5 billion Agbami oil field project.
The Agbami oil field is one of Chevron’s largest deepwater discoveries in Nigeria. A tender from Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), stated that the subsea vessel is required for subsea construction, subsea inspection, repair & maintenance (IRM), and provision of general support to Agbami FPSO operations as well as supporting other operations such as the seabed survey for the Agbami Field.
Chevron owns a 67.3 per cent of Agbami Field, which lies 70 miles (113 km) off the coast of the central Niger Delta region and spans 45,000 acres (182 sq km). The oil field which is primarily with associated gas holds potentially recoverable volumes of 900 MMbbl of oil.
