The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced top management changes in the national oil company. A statement from the company on Sunday said the move was part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen and reposition the corporation for greater efficiency.

The statement also stated that the changes are in line with President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s transparency commitments to governance.

In the latest redeployments, the Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD), Mr. Adokiye Tombomieye, was appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), upstream. The Managing Director of the Nigerian Gas Marketing Company (NGMC), Mr Mohammed  Ahmed,  has also been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Services, following the retirement of  Mr Farouk  Sa’id,  last week.
