Noreen is a Senior Associate in the Energy and Natural Resources practice of TripleOKlaw LLP – one of the highly regarded law firms in Kenya – where she routinely uses her knowledge of international best practices and local requirements to provide dispute, corporate and project advisory services as well as practical legal, technical and commercial solutions to governments, energy companies, investors and financial institutions in the Eastern Africa region.
Prior to specializing in energy law, Noreen was an astute litigator and represented high profile clients in constitutional and human rights related matters as well as environment and land law cases before both Kenyan and regional courts. She now prefers to assist clients to manage and resolve differences through alternative forms of dispute resolution (ADR) and is a Regional Representative of London Court of International’s Arbitration’s Young International Arbitrator’s Group (LCIA YIAG). She also sits on the Law Society of Kenya’s ADR Committee.
Noreen has a strong commitment to pro bono work, particularly offering legal research and analysis support to energy law reform and policy development related projects. She aims to substantively contribute to the formulation of better national, regional and global energy policy that takes energy justice into account.
Presently, Noreen is a co-editor of a book which focuses on the impact of energy transitions and climate change on future developments in Africa. She speaks and publishes regularly on topical issues in energy and ADR. She also guides young girls interested in the sector in developing road maps for achieving their career aspirations.
